A woman in red. A man in black. A sky of blue. The ground blanketed in white.
I couldn’t have asked for a more stunning day for my best friend’s engagement photos on the mountain. I am so amazingly happy with how this shoot came out. It’s not often I have an idea in my mind that I get to see through to completion, but I have been visualizing this for ages and it turned out more fun and more awesome than I had even imagined! These photos are Audrey and Joe’s wedding present from me and I hope they love and treasure them for the rest of their lives! Congrats you two!!
Trisha and Kurt met in West, a dorm at Oregon State, their freshman year.
Trisha immediately developed a huge crush on Kurt. But it took until their senior year before anything happened.
They eventually became close friends and made a pact to get married at 30 if there was no one else.
But one fateful night, Trisha and Kurt were walking back from a lovely establishment in Corvallis known as The Peacock, eating Qdoba, and they accidentally spilled the beans to one another.
No, not the burrito beans.
They were in love with each other.
And that was that.
Once they finally decided to be together, they had to spend two and a half years apart. Now they are engaged, happily living in Tigard with their adorable corgi puppy and Siamese cat, and I am extremely excited to be working with them! Trisha is originally from Bend, and Kurt grew up in a family that LOVES all things Christmas, so they decided that a Christmas-themed mountain engagement shoot would be perfect for them! We drove up to Mt. Hood, stopped to buy a tiny Christmas tree, goofed off in the freezing cold sunshine up at Timberline, and had a ton of fun! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next October!
I met Tamra back in college at Oregon State, and she is actually quite the talented photographer herself! I was insanely excited when she contacted me about shooting her wedding and engagement photos, and even MORE happy when she told me she wanted to take the photos up on the mountain! Why? Because I am a wee bit obsessed with the whole Oregon-in-the-winter kind of photoshoot, and I LOVE going on adventures with people! This day certainly didn’t disappoint either. We drove up Mt. Hood, took random turns on random roads, almost fell in a river, teetered on the edge of multiple cliffs, got our feet wet playing in the snow, dodged cars on the highway, climbed up a mountain of chopped down trees, almost fell into ANOTHER river, and probably drove around 200 miles through some of my most favorite places in the state.
What I am trying to say is this:
The shoot was awesome.
See for yourself.
