Spring Engagement Photos in the Columbia River Gorge

Spring in Portland is magical. Every leaf and blade of grass bursts into brilliant color as the season crescendos into full effect. It’s the perfect time and place to take some spring engagement photos in the Columbia River Gorge! This gorgeous gal Kimberly is actually a super talented photographer herself! You can check out here work here! I was so excited when she reached out to me to take some spring engagement photos in the Columbia River Gorge during her trip to Portland with her fiancé. I actually met her through a photographer group on Facebook – small world! For this shoot, we started at** Women’s Forum** for its beautiful views. Then we drove just past Crown Point to take a few photos on this scary cliff! It’s less terrifying than it looks, but it’s still intense. I’m so used to working in cloudy winter light, so this sunshine was a treat! I loved how the light illuminated the epic landscape. Finally, to end the shoot, we finished up at Latourell Falls. It’s always one of my favorites spots! It’s easy to get to, it’s gorgeous, and it has that quintessential Columbia River Gorge look! It also kind of looks like Iceland, which is pretty awesome. Of course, Kimberly and Ryan were naturals in front of the camera. They knew exactly how to balance dramatic looks with playful vibes. I loved getting to document this little chapter in their story! It’s always such an honor to work with other photographers and out-of-town visitors! I love getting to play tour-guide during my sessions. There is SO much Oregon beauty to share
