Portland Backyard Wedding and Wahclella Falls Elopement | Jenna and Eric

Wahclella Falls is a hidden gem in the Columbia River Gorge! Its one of the most epic waterfalls and it's a simple 1 mile hike. Photos by Portland wedding photographer Katy Weaver

One of my favorite things is when couples follow their hearts and plan simple, heartfelt, personalized wedding days that are unique to them. Jenna and Eric did just that. They decided to have a simple Portland backyard wedding at their home near NE Alberta. They included just a few family and friends and said their vows under the spring magnolia blossoms. After their ceremony, we walked over to the Alberta Arts district to take a few photos by the colorful walls and have a quick drink at a bar! And then everyone hopped into their cars and we drove out to the Columbia River Gorge for a hike! Their family and friends braved the muddy Wahclella Falls trail and Jenna changed back into her wedding attire once we reached the waterfall. We took some amazing portraits in the rain and it was so romantic and fun! Their dog even got to join them!

If you are trying to plan your Oregon or Portland elopement, there are SO many different ways you can schedule your day and so many beautiful places to go! If you need help, I’m always happy to give you elopement ideas or tell you about awesome things my clients have tried. There is no right or wrong way to get married, and it is so important to remember that!
