So, last week (July 20-26th) I decided to take 6 days off and meet my family in Colorado for an adventure in the Rockies. I flew into Denver, drove to Boulder and stayed with my aunt and uncle in their gorgeous house there. The day after I arrived, my sisters, dad, uncle and I took the most strenuous hike of my entire life and climbed Mt. Audubon, elev. 13,200 ft. I was not in good shape, was recovering from a pretty bad chest cold, and had not acclimated to the roughly 8,000ft elev. of the Boulder area, but I somehow made it to the top- coughing and gasping for air pretty much the whole way up. My dad was very kind and stayed with me while I walked at a somewhat slower pace, so I have a lot of pictures of him. My uncle on the other hand, made it to the summit in under two hours and I only saw him at the beginning and the end of the walk.
On the way back from the hike, we stopped in the town of Ward, which is a funky little hippie town with the most random stuff in it:
At the end of the night, we all took a family portrait back at the house 🙂 Done with a timer!
